Title: Karidopeta - Greek Walnut Cake

3cWater
2cSugar
1/2tsCinnamon
1slLemon
1/4cRum or 1 tsp. extract
  BATTER:--
1/2lbButter or margarine,
  Softened
1cSugar
6 Eggs
1cFlour
1cFarina
1cChopped walnuts
1tsCinnamon
2ts[Heaping] baking powder
1tsGrated orange peel

Make syrup first by combining ingredients in a saucepan. Boil 10 minutes. Stir every few minutes. Set aside to cool. Cream butter and sugar until light, add eggs, one at a time, beating constantly. Add flour, farina, baking powder, cinnamon, orange peel and beat well. Then add walnuts. Bake in 9x13 inch buttered pan at 350 for 30 minutes. Pour cooled syrup over cake while cake is hot. Allow to cool, cut into diamond shapes.
